Master Sommelier Rob Bigelow's illustrious career spans prestigious positions, from directing the award-winning wine program at Canlis Restaurant to overseeing Bellagio's vast wine program and achieving a Wine Spectator Grand Award.
With a deep-rooted passion for wine that blossomed from an early encounter with a 1961 Château Margaux, Rob's journey into the world of beverages has been nothing short of exceptional. As the 50th American and 7th overall to achieve the esteemed title of Master Sommelier in 2002, Rob's expertise has shaped the industry. His career trajectory includes pivotal roles such as Senior Director of Wine Education and On-Premise Development at Ste. Michelle Wine Estates, where he spearheaded wine education programs, collaborated with key stakeholders in the trade, and continues to inspire new generations of wine connoisseurs and professionals.
Reigning Champion:Thomas Price, Master Sommelier in Residence
Master Sommelier Thomas Price has spent the last 35 years working in some of Seattle's most prominent restaurants, including his own. Shortly after obtaining his Master Sommelier certificate in 2012, Price joined Jackson Family Fine Wines as National Director of Wine Education, in addition to working as an educational instructor with Auburn University's Horst Schulze School of Hospitality Management.
Thomas is passionate about wine of course, but he's also passionate about mentoring and teaching well, passing along the art of hospitality and the importance of pursuing excellence in food and beverage presentation. His recent feature in Wine Spectator shines the spotlight on why Thomas is such a vital part of the Tony & Libba Rane Culinary Science Center and 1856- Culinary Residence teaching restaurant.
